Networking – recognized as the most effective tool in job search – can be even more effective by building relationships through blogs. Join PSGMC member Jeff Marshall on Wednesday, June 3, from 9:30 am to noon at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Library as he shares his success with blogging. “Networking is not merely a process of giving out business cards; it is making yourself memorable and noticeable in the largest communities possible,” Jeff explains. He will explain how blogging can change the dynamics of your job search and extend your reach to include many more people than traditional networking alone. He will provide
step-by-step instructions on setting up and writing your blog. If writing is
not for you, he will also show how you can widen your network by using other
people’s blogs. A former attorney
who transitioned into risk management, Jeff Marshall most recently served as
director of risk management for the School District of Philadelphia. When
budget cuts eliminated his position, he found himself in transition and began
rebuilding his professional network. His blog, The Risk Management Guy, recently celebrated its first anniversary.
In that time it has been read more than 25,000 times, more than the number of
fans who attended the 76er’s home games! He credits blogging with helping him
land interviews, consulting positions and a contract position. Read Jeff's blog at https://theriskmanagementguy.wordpress.com. Photo courtesy of Jeff Marshall
